Atari800Win v2.6c | Home |
| |
- Built from Atari800 codebase 1.0.4, VisC 6.0 Service Pack 4
- Corrected a keyboard bug that would cause some keys to be lost if you were typing quickly
- Corrected a registry query bug that could throw exceptions in Win2K
- Small file dialog (used in the 320x??? screens) is now much more functional and easier to use
- Hard Disk directory-selector dialog boxes now much easier to use Note: Because of an oddity in the way Windows handles the special directory-selector dialog box, you MUST be in GDI mode to get it. If you are in DDRAW fullscreen modes, you will get a file selector that nevertheless will select the directory for you. I recommend you set this in windowed mode before you go into full screen (remember Alt-Enter will flip between the two).
- Images from compressed files are opened read/write now for compatibility. Keep in mind that CHANGES are not SAVED when you write to a compressed image. If you are going to be writing to a disk, keep it in uncompressed form. They will be marked read only in the drive dialog box.
- Various command line options fixed to override registry values. In other words, command line options take precedence over your defaults saved in the registry.
- Cartridge selection has been simplified; the "hold down option" button was extraneous and removed...either select BASIC, or any other cartridge, or none, and all will be well.
- To avoid confusion some people were having, the Options menu was renamed to "Windows", to make it obvious that settings that affect your Windows config go here, as opposed to settings that affect your Atari, which are under the Atari menu (as they were always)
- Keyboard templates can now hold values for any of up to four keyboard joysticks. Note that for now, you have to configure this via the Windows/Keyboard menu, instead of the Windows/Joystick menu...I'll figure a more elegant way to put these together later. Downside is now you can't use the old keyboard templates made with previous verisons, you'll have to create new ones. The Windows/Joystick menu still exists and will allow you to select a real joystick on any of the available joystick ports.
- New menu option Atari/Rotate disks (also Alt-O) moves drive 2 disk to disk 1, disk 3 to disk 2, and so on, with disk 1 wrapping to the last active drive in the list.
- Note that since artifacting has changed substantially in the core code, you will now have to restart (Atari800Win, not the virtual Atari) to have it take effect. Sorry, I'll fix it if possible.
- Default artifacting is now none; I get far too emails asking why "my screen is fuzzy".
- Small UI changes to menus; I'm examining better looking options
- Move WAVE saving code into an independent module so other ports could use it
- Changed DiskLEDs to use the Atari800 version
- Any mail you sent to me will have to be resent (again). Sorry.
- Revised Todo list based off new code
